In
the area around two of the most important art museums in Barcelona, graffiti
abounds. It is on corrugated steel roll up doors, the walls of abandoned buildings,
and on the safety walls erected around construction sites. It is an ever changing
outdoor art exhibition. By tacit agreement the city and the artists get along-the
city leaves it up and does not pursue the artists, the artists avoid public
and private spaces that are in use. In some areas there are large bright murals
on all sides.
